Summary: In late July 2023, the environmental information of Wengfu Xiangfeng's 30,000 t/a AHF and 20,000 t/a electronic grade hydrofluoric acid project was publicised for the second time.

On 31 July, 2023, the environmental information of the 30,000 t/a anhydrous hydrogen fluoride (AHF) and 20,000 t/a electronic grade hydrofluoric acid project of Yunnan Wengfu Xiangfeng Fluorosilicone New Material Co., Ltd. (Wengfu Xiangfeng) was disclosed for the second time. Wengfu Xiangfeng was jointly founded by Wengfu (Group) Co., Ltd. (Wengfu Group) and Yunnan Xiangfeng New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (Xiangfeng New Energy) on 23 Feb., 2023. Wengfu Xiangfeng will fully utilise the technical advantages of Wengfu Group's AHF production technology and the hexafluorosilicic acid resources of Xiangfeng New Energy to construct AHF and electronic grade hydrofluoric acid devices and at the same time develop fluorosilicone chemicals focusing on inorganic fluorine salt, fluorine-enriched fine chemical, and silicone.

In this context, Wengfu Xiangfeng planned to establish this 30,000 t/a AHF and 20,000 t/a electronic grade hydrofluoric acid project in Anning Industrial Park of Lupiao Street, Anning City, Kunming City, Yunnan Province. This project, with a total investment of USD65.92 million (RMB469.91 million), covers an area of 71,343.5 m².

Electronic grade hydrofluoric acid as one kind of fluorine-enriched fine chemical is mainly used to remove oxides and it is one of the most widely used electronic chemicals in the production process of semiconductors. In recent years, as China's semiconductor and photovoltaic industries have developed rapidly, demand for electronic grade hydrofluoric acid has continuously increased. Under such circumstances, many domestic enterprises stepped in electronic grade hydrofluoric acid sector and this industry is about to usher in capacity expansion period.
